Improving Water, Sanitation, and Energy Supply at Al Foukhari UNRWA school in the Gaza Strip, Palestine
The Water, Sewerage and Power Supplies Improvement Project Al-Fakhari Girls Preparatory School in the Gaza Strip Implemented by EcoPeace Middle East at the UNRWA-run with generous support from Gerda Henkel Foundation, has become a pathway of hope in the strip. That is evident given the lack of a sewerage network in Al-Fakahri area besides to the high salinity water wells and the frequent blackouts that disrupt the education process in Gaza.
The EcoPeace Middle East project focuses on the provision of a clean source of energy with a capacity of 25.4 Kilowats for the benefit of 2,560 female students at al-Fakhari Girls School. It also focuses on providing a rainwater collection system as well as on treating grey wastewater and reusing it for flushing school toilets and irrigating the trees that would planted as part of the project activities.
