EcoPeace Middle East - Ramallah office conducted geopolitical tour for the French group “les Voix de la Paix” (Voices for peace), a group of inter-religious and inter-conventional participants. The tour included a visit to the Jordan Valley area where EcoPeace briefed the group on the current water situation and what are the impacts the human actions have had on these shared water resources, such as the fast shrinking of the Dead Sea, and Jordan River water shortages. The group met with EcoPeace Middle East director Mrs. Nada Majadalni who talked about EcoPeace's bottom-up and top-down approach to tackle these issues, and the Green Blue Deal (GBD) initiative that prompts regional cooperation to improve water and environmental conditions in the region. Mrs. Majdalani explained to the group how the inflaming climate crisis would lead to regional instability in the most water-scarce region on the planet.
